This book is a Ms. Tilton's (a very good writer) take on droit du seigneur, the alleged right of a feudal lord to take the virginity of his serfs” daughters. In this future America, a military dictator has his officers take the virginity of randomly selected 18 year olds to punish their/her hometown(s). The "hero" must "punish and shame" and thoroughly sexually use the heroine in every possible way.

The book is told from alternating 3rd person points of view.

Ms. Tilton does a good job of describing the humiliation and (yet) erotic desire of the heroine up to and during her subjugation. And describing the thoughts and desires of the "hero." Unfortunately, there is nothing thorough about the non-existent plot. Yes, of course there is a plot, but it is one that could be written on a 3 by 5 card.

Actually, I do know what I think about Subjugated because I just wrote it. What I don't know is how many stars to give it. I could justify anything between 2 (it was ok) to 4 (I really like it. It was better than ok, and somewhere between "I liked it" and "I really liked it." I'm going to give Ms. Tilton the benefits of the doubt and give her four stars for what is probably a 3+ book. Why? She can write creatively. I first gave it 3 stars.

Was very good.
Hard to read. The age of the girl and what happened to her made me sick to my stomach.
Emily writes with a different flare then others do. This was a good book just written from a different angle.
Even though I enjoy a good submission book/story this was to much like a violent rape with the acts bordering on sadistic. This is the second book of this nature I have read from E. Tilton. She normally write books that are very good submission style erotic. Just beware of the dark nature in subjugation style written books.
There are a couple things I've always hated in romance novels "love at first sight" or quickly after finding each other. Even as a your teen back in the 80s I hated it. And rape passed off as dominance. Sences were rape victims secrely enjoy it and fall in love with the rapist. Aren't we past this? I knew going into the book rape would be an aspect but the writer mistakes bdsm which is concentual with rape which is not. Donamce is not rape.
Emily Tilton does Submission and Subjugation very well. Another look into a Post-Apocalyptic and dark future.
I like to think of this book as my most recent guilty pleasure. There were so many naughty scenes in this story that I can tell Emily Tilton absolutely knows how to push the buttons of her readers. The story was full of non-con sex, public punishments, voyeurism and suspense to keep the reader engaged and the sex and punishment scenes were hot hot hot. Well done.
