Read this to my sons when they were little more than 30 years ago - they are now reading the stories to their children -- WONDERFUL
My kids both loved this series and now that one has his own child, I was delighted to find it again.
This is a great book. The 4 short stories are compassionate and entertaining, and contain struggles and solutions realistic to a young child making wishes and seeing that you already have what you need, balancing your needs with those of your friends, losing a tooth, and being frightened of strange noises in the dark. I was very glad to find a hardcover copy to replace our worn and well-loved paper-back.
great book for young kids
This author's animation and story telling stand alone in a myriad of children's book authors. Adults will love reading as much as the children hearing it. A MUST HAVE for any child and their parent or grandparent!
My boys loved this book when they were little and now I'm buying it for grandkids. The Night Noises story is wonderful for soothing scared of the dark kids. The artwork in this book is absolutely adorable as are the stories.
Although admittedly this book is nostalgic for me, given that it was probably one of the first books I ever read and holds a special place in my heart, I still feel confident in saying that even a new reader will enjoy. Though it is, for all intents and purposes -a children's book, I know several adults who would benefit from the lessons of friendship and love in this book. These Mole and Troll stories will definitely put a smile on your face, each tackling basic human fears and inadequicies with a bit of silliness, while stressing the importance of having real friendship. As for the illustrations, I can't possibly say enough! They brilliantly compliment the stories. Worth every cent!
